My Thoughts On Cize


After doing Insanity and T25 There was a bit of a void in our lives. For this reason, we contacted a good friend of ours. Beachbody Coach Alida Steele. After all, Our facebook wall was littered with Alidas cize Dance workout videos.

After sending Alida a private message she explained to us what Cize dance is all about! At this point, we was really interested. We scoured the web for more information on Cize. Plus, Alida was kind enough to give us behind the scenes information.

Did it fill that void? not really as with other Insanity and T25 fans I wanted more of the same.We are not  big dancers, would I like to be? hell yea!

We Felt A Bit Silly

This is perfect for learning how to dance and lose belly fat at the same time, but for me, it just didn’t feel right, I felt a bit silly but confusingly fun at the same time.

However, like I mentioned earlier somewhere down the line to becoming an adult the passion for dance has gone and I have become embarrassed to let loose as many men have. I believe Cize is the gateway to childhood nostalgia! Why not even do it with your kids.

Research has shown kids that exercise as a family unit have a stronger family bond and do better academically this is a good enough reason if any.

    I was put off Insanity by the sheer effort required! But I also have a foot problem so I was concerned about doing exercises that really would hurt.

    This new program is far more appealing and I am now very interested to find out more. My daughter and I had been planning to do something together so I think this might work for us!

    Enjoyed my visit to Busting My Fat Belly. I like the simple and easy to navigate layout, although I found the text size a bit hard to read.

    The CIZE video was an absolute hoot! What an inspiring older couple who apparently enjoy the CIZE program but more importantly are still enjoying so much fun doing something together. What an excellent endorsement for the program, given so many other fitness and weight loss sites appear to focus on the fitness needs of younger people; that can intimidate and exclude older people from wanting to try something new and to make positive lifestyle changes.

    This looks like a lot of fun and you get fit to boot ….what could be better? I don’t have time to get to the gym, and I’m not to keen on doing a zumba or cardio class, so this would be the perfect solution because I could do it at home…and as you say I’m sure my kids would love it as well. Great idea because when your having fun you don’t think it’s hard, and you’ll keep doing it.

    This Cize exercise program rocks!!!
    I have a friend that use to weight 115 Kilos,
    He tried bounce of products,
    but until he tried this program he starts to see results.
    He is using it in the past 2 months, and he already lost 15 Kilos.
    I started to work with him last week because I also have 5 -10 Kilos to burn out 🙂
    Except that all my body is in pain right now because I didn’t work out for a couple of years, this exercise program is doing the work, I forget how much fun is to workout and even more fun to workout and dance.

    I do not like exercise if it isn’t fun and this certainly is right up my alley. I loved the couple in the video. They looked like they were enjoying themselves. I also noticed that the woman modified the intensity for her own ability. I didn’t see a price here.

    This is a great exercise routine and should be a must have for losing weight. Dancing is a joy for many and this routine will certainly enlighten those who are fitness conscious. After you begin a diet change with better healthy food it will be even easier as you lose weight. Getting started is the key to any weight loss and Cize is the catalyst. Great product and motivator.

    Thanks for this review as I tend to see the infomercial for this in the mornings and I get hooked on watching it! I have insanity asylum and it’s pretty difficult, but I like how beach body has started to add more dancing to their fitness selections. I think dancing is a great way to get fit because you don’t realize just how much you are doing since your having fun!

    Cize looks like a fun work out for beginners. I enjoyed the video presentation. It looks like it gets you moving but at your own pace which is really good. I also liked the cool down part that seemed to give a decent stretch after the workout. You do a great job explaining everything on your website. A few more pics might be helpful but overall, I get a pretty good idea what the workout is like. Thanks for sharing.

I agree with some of what I read in the comment thread. As with anything, if you don’t enjoy it you won’t continue doing it.     Wow! I love this, this is exactly the way I like to exercise. I actually play my music and dance up a sweat and the best thing about it is that you hardly ever notice the time go by or feel tired to the point that you want to stop. I can just go on and on with my dance routine and I get a really good workout.

    I like the idea of adding wrist waits to a routine like this. It does sound fun though – dance your way to a trim body! I could do with losing a few excess pounds especially as it is in the middle of winter here in Australia, it can be hard to get motivated. This sounds like it is a bit of fun to undertake in the comfort of your own lounge room!

    cize seems to be a good alternative for those that don’t usually have the motivation to get to the gym. This also makes working out fun and another perk is that you can do it with friends or your significant other. Does there happen to be a certain age range for this though? Seems like a great present for my parents.

    Hi! I love going to aerobics and boot camp classes at my gym and local community center, but I have never tried buying DVDs and doing the workouts at home. You mentioned it was a 30 day challenge, how long are the daily sessions? And do they get progressively harder and harder? Thanks for the review 🙂

      You can do the programme over and over, and yes it lasts for 30 days and each session of Cize lasts about 30-45 mins per session.

      It does get harder and it challengers different parts of the body.

    I have heard of Shaun T. before but I did not know he had his own dance workout DVD’s. Being a senior I enjoyed the video with the fit grandparents. This is a great way to get some daily exercise and actually enjoy it. Other forms of exercise are somewhat boring and hard to keep doing. I think this is a routine that I could stick with.

    Dancing is a great cardio sport which help you to stay fit. The main advantage of this activity is that you mix pleasure and sport, i.e. you don’t think you are necessarily making physical efforst but you’re having fun all along the moment you dance. I really enjoyed your review; I would just say that the pros and cons were not that explicit – I couldn’t see the difference. Good job!

    Is there several levels of Cise dance or it just change the music rithm and the exercises are different?

    I am a HUGE Shawn T fan. I contribute my 50 pound weight loss to his programs and support through his social media accounts and i’d give anything to meet him in person.
    I’ve done Insanity, T-25, and Insanity Max30. I’m currently doing 22 minute Hard Corps. I want to give Tony Horton a chance…lol.
    I’ve debating on whether or not to try Cize. I’ve never been a good dancer…like at all. So I’ve been hesitant about this one.

    I think it is pretty amazing because I hate to exercise to lose weight but I really enjoy dancing.
    However my mom is 45 years old now and I would want to ask if this is safe for her?
    She has joint pain at times and cant do strenuous exercise so I really want ot know if this would help her?

      Dancing is generally regarded as a safe workout but before embarking on any fitness programme then get a check up first.

    My wife and I have not tried the other products but from what you mention they are most likely too intense. The dance DVD’s we use at present are the Zumba but find it’s hard to keep up when there is no step by step break down of the moves.

    Cize dance workout on the other hand you mentioned does give you instructions for the different steps which would make things much better to get the routine down.

    It sounds like this is a much better and thought out product to try.

    Thanks for the review! I’ve been thinking of trying something like this, but haven’t really known where to start. I was relieved to hear that it’s a bit lower intensity than some of the other programs, and that you don’t have to be fit to start, because I haven’t had a regular exercise routine in a while due to some health issues. How high-impact is the Cize program? I know “dance” can go a lot of different ways in that respect, and I do have to be somewhat cautious there.

    Well, it is often said that the best way to keep exercising and to stay fit is to choose something that is fun. That way it will be far easier to keep it up. Almost any kind of exercise will be better for you than sitting in front of the tv. Dancing is known to be good and varied exercise training both stamina, coordination and strength. I am also sure that there are dance programs more intense than this one. Do you have any plans for a review on something more difficult?

    I am just as bad – I have poor rhythm and coordination. Not sure if I can go through this program. I also have a bad knee problem. So if this dance is an end to exercise, then some of the moves will definitely include some form of squat or jump routine/moves (saw a bit of it on the video). But it does sound interesting and something that i might consider. Did I miss on the pricing? How much does it cost?

    I really like that this workout tape comes with an eating plan or meal plan. As you know, 80% of getting in shape is eating right will 20% is the working out. Both are important but you need good fuel! These workouts seem kind of crazy. I love working out but this seems like it would bust your butt!! Also, I think it might be tough to get my husband into this! 🙂 However, my son might like the dancing.

    Hey Steven, how are you? I hadn’t heard about Cize before. I’m familiar with Shaun T’s other workouts, but this one is new to me. You mentioned that this does not have the intensity of Insanity. Maybe that’s good! I haven’t done the Insanity workout, but I can tell, it’s very intense. I’ve done other Beach Body workouts, and they’re intense enough if you put your all into them. Frankly, I might be too old for Insanity. I’m 65. Cize may be just the thing for something different and fun. I may be a bit old, but I think I can do this one. Thanks for the heads up on this.

I think I will have to check out Cize, I have tried different workout CDs from home but lose interest fairly quickly. Not something I enjoy by myself.       Its completely different type of dancing as Zumba is Latin style and Cize is more modern including hip hop and pop and dance songs

    My mom, who is now deceased participated in a similar dance/workout program each day, that actually had a DVD and ability to watch on her television, (trying to keep up with the instructor) when she was in her late 70’s to around 80 years old.

    For a fact toning your body and burning off calories by dancing would be a lot more interesting and fun compared to doing situps/pushups, squat thrusts and etc.

    I kind of agree that women might find it to be more interesting with the cize workout program versus men. Many men are macho and look at dancing as being less masculine. They would also be wrong as any form of cardio exertion that also includes core body movements as well as the use of one’s arms and legs are great ways to get and keep in shape.

    Excellent review Steven on what is a very unique product!

My husband is interested, I have tried Zumba but a lot of knee bending and I am not able to do. This is a great workout as you stated for all people whether a beginner or expert.     I love dancing and I love Shaun T. I have tried his Hip Hop Abs and oh boy! has this worked! Shaun T is really motivational and he keeps you moving through out the video. The package also came with diet suggestions, to really boost the weight loss. I still have to try Insanity and T25. But now you really make me want to try the Cize too.     Interesting article on what sounds like a rewarding workout program. I know a lot of people like to dance, and if you like something it will feel less like work and more fun. It’s a fantastic idea. Although, I am not a dancer, I wouldn’t mind giving it a go if I could watch a little of an actual video, to get a general idea.
    I have done the T25 and didn’t enjoy it. But maybe I would enjoy this program.

      The individual sessions last between 30-55 minutes and on average burn about 400 calories the more you work the more you burn.

      The added bonus is you get “afterburn” so you will be burning calorioes upto 48 jours afterwards

    This sounds like fun. I have not done the insanity work outs. I do have well used Tae Bo vhs work outs though, lol.

But of course before I ever purchase anything, I have to do research to decide whether or not its worth it, and I was also considering the 21 day Fix. I like that it’s easy to follow and a reasonable price. I can’t wait to try it and see my results.

    Hey Steve,
    Great page regarding the Cize program. I have personally done T25, Insanity, and P90X for the past 10 or so years of my life. I also have a good friend who is a beachbody coach.
    Through conversation with this coach and other family members there seems to be a constant question surrounding effective at-home workouts for seniors or people just ‘over the hill’. It seems most ‘get in shape at home’ workout plans are far too intense for middle aged or older people to start and maintain; 40-60 years old lets say. Could Cize be the end of this? In your opinion would Cize be an easy enough transition for older people or those who do not regularly exercise to start up? In addition to your video I think adding some content promoting how this workout would be great for this particular demographic would be effective. It could just be my personal experience but I feel this is an under-discussed topic and perhaps something you could shed some light on!

      Absolutely like my grandma used to say “your never to old to dance” with Cize you don have the modifier (an easy person to follow as apposed to Shaun T)

    Thanks for the review. I have Beach Bodies and have found that it HURTS!

    I have a bad back and am not in shape at all (despite lots of attempts). I find that it’s hard to find routines that don’t overdo it for me and wind up in injury. Would you say Cize is safe for people who break easy?

      This is a hard question to answer! Depends how easy you break and how severe your back is, i would recommend consulting a physician as they will know your back ground.

      The is modifiers with beach body products and Cize is know way near as intense as other beach body products

    Great review! My opinion may differ a little from yours.This workout video set claims that it’s ideal for tenderfoots. I would profoundly differ with that. The main video, the person goes through the moves so rapidly and afterward just hops into a quick-paced schedule. My little girl, who I acquired this for, kicked so disappointed she off crying. I think they truly require a video to simply separate each move in moderate movement. On the off chance that you have considerable experience with the move, then you will most likely be alright. by the way, I enjoyed reading the article it was extremely dead on.

    Hi, I’ve tried Shaun T’s Hip Hop Abs and, although the exercizes were fun and easy to do, I didn’t lose any weight.
    I hope this workout really delivers what’s been promised.
    You suggest to try Cize dance workout with the kids – are exercizes easy enough for the little ones?
    I would love to try some dancing and involve my 3 year old as he has so much energy and he loves music.

      The kids will struggle with the technical side of the moves but the important thing is they and yourself will have fun, and as it stands kids dont get enough exercise in there daily routine, Cize is perfect for the family just for the pure fun you will have

      The DVD is designed to be done everyday, however if you have a programme such as weight lifting then supplementing Cize with an existing routine can help to keep things fresh

      My fitness teacher once said “if something is important you will always find a way, if its not you will always find an excuse” to many people say they havnt got time to exercise.

      I never accept this excuse as my clock as the same amount of hours as every one else’s! we need to make exercise a habit just like brushing our teeth, so really we should go back to grass roots and start there but Cize makes it fun its not another chore

    I really like your description of Cize, and the video. It does look as though it is great fun, and if it helps to lose weight then that sounds like the ideal combination!
    I have seen a video by ShaunT and I liked the idea, but it just looked too intense for me, so I think I really will try Cize, which does look a little more gentle!!

    The program looks very funny and not very difficult to follow.
    When you are 60 years or older it is when they begin to appear the “difficulties” to find a source of exercises that allow us to continue a healthy life since most of these courses are designed for middle age people.

    Hi Steve. I appreciate your website for the health benefits that go along with losing fat and just simply exercising nd eating properly. I have done a lot of research into diet and exercise, and it does take some time and some digging to unravel all the hype. Diet and exercise do go hand in hand though, don’t they? You can eat well, but it’s still hard to lose fat without exercise. But then on the other hand, I know someone who is very overweight, and “fat”. They have a very hard time with food. The other day the person went to an exercise class for about an hour. Afterwards they said, “Well now I can eat a little more because I exercised. Bad mindset isn’t it?       Your absolutely right that exercise and diet go hand in hand, scientist have concluded its about 80% diet and 20% exercise.

      I found that the diet is the hardest part like most people as thats real dedication as tasty stuff is normally got a lot of sugar in it.

      In a warped way your friend is actually right that he can eat more as hes exercised as your metobolism will be fired up how ever this still needs to be consistent and it is a bad mind set to get in to

    Very interesting article, but am I guaranteed to lose a certain amount of weight or gain certain results based on my size? Will the results from the workout equate to the initial investment of buying the workout videos? Very simple website layout and very informative information on the workouts. Why are these workouts better than the ones that could be obtained for free?

      Hi there, you never guaranteed a certain amount of weight but if you follow any exercise program consistently and full hearted I guarantee you will lose something.

      Exercising for free is always preferential, however, how motivated are you to carry on and are you accountable to any one? or even do you know how properly too get best results in least possible time?

      Also if you pay for something your more likely to exercise as you want your moneys worth

    Oh wow, definitely an interesting take to exercise and getting physically in shape. I’m all for anything that promotes a healthy lifestyle and if this can get some motivated enough to move around, then it’s all good! Reminds me of a toned down version of insanity by Shawn T, and that was super popular. I think this can do well too since it’s less intimidating and less intense so more people should be open to it.

    Cize looks like it will suit my wife perfectly.
    She loves dance fitness as it does bring some fun into the routine.
    It’s obviously not the most intense training program but I bet Cize far out beats most intense training programs as the majority of us just want to lose a bit of weight, get fitter while having fun doing so.

    I am more of a free weights type of guy myself but I like to mix things up with Yoga and these types of programs. I got hooked when P90X was new and if Cize is a somewhat less intense program than T25 it sounds like a program I would love.

      You really would be mixing it up, this is pure dance you will feel a workout but if you’re looking for hardcore like T25 and P90x you may be disappointed.

    This dance exercise Cize could be just what my wife would like to try out next.

    She normally does the zumba but finds some of the moves difficult to do correctly. You say this one is not as intense as Insanity or T25, this could be the one that she would enjoy doing.

    Adding wrist and ankle weights is always good to increase your workout, and if you can learn the steps, then that is something that can be added later to improve the exercise.

    Great tips and update for a new dance workout.

      I have tried zumba myself and it isn’t easy a lot of the moves come from the hips and its more exercisey! Cize is perfect for some one to build up to as its step by step.

    This may not be as intense as insanity but I think Cize not going to be any less brutal!

    A couple of years ago I did something similar to Cize although Cize has structure. What I can say, is that although I didn’t have the structure, these exercises will shred the belly fat.

    Don’t always need weights to kill yourself haha

    by the way, the year I did the similar workouts I was voted fittist player on soccer team. Not bad for a 37 year old where the average age was 26!

    Great stuff Steven I have to say that video with the elderly couple cracked me up! All I could think about was how my folks would react if I bought that for them as a gift lol, the dogs in the house wouldn’t know what happened!

    What kind of meal plans are there with the course? I think it’s great to be able to put together a comprehensive exercise program that’s fun, helps you get in shape and keeps you healthy too!

      The meal book has a directory of foods you choose from and water is massively encouraged and to make it a bit more fun its infused as well

    I have done many Beachbody workouts including P90, all of them, Insanity, T25 and I love them all.

    Is Cize at all like Hip Hop Abs? I’m like you in that I don’t dance and never have been able to. LOL.

    That being said, its all about the workout for me, and I would be willing to try it out.

    How long are the videos? I have gotten used to 25-30 minute workouts.

    Have you done this and if so, how much weight did you lose?

      Hi billy,

      the workouts are any where between 30 mins and 45 mins dont expect the same intensity, however becuse your not used to dancing and shorter workouts this could benefit.

      Hip Hop abs is more of a @exercise workout@ where as cize is Dance and not got sqauts lunges anything like that in its basically professional dancing that eases you in to it.

    I like shaun T’s programs they are very good for beginners and kids. Doing them at home every day get a little boring though and many people need to be motivated. So unless you are EXTRENLY self-motivated..workout video are probably not for you. But from my personal experience this video collection is a good sweat and good way to burn some calories.

      The choice is up to as the 21 day fix comes with workout DVDs stating you can lose up to 15 pounds in them 21 days, in my eyes there 2 diffrent programs cize is all about having fun whilst getting in shape, shakeology is fine but cize does come with a meal book to follow

    Cite dancing is an exercise program designed to help you lose weight. It increases your cardio, strengthens your core, and really gets you moving but doesn’t feel like exercise, it makes it fun because you’re dancing. It will probably appeal to females more than males since it’s all dance, but you don’t have to be coordinated or super fit to do it, you just have to follow along and have fun. Each course breaks down the moves then puts them all together into a fun dance that helps you lose weight, feel great, all while you are having fun dancing around your house. You get 6 dances and a meal plan. It may not have the intensity of his other programs but come on this is dancing people, it’s not going to be as intense as other kinds of exercise, besides, this is something you can do and have fun at the same time, so in my book, anything where you exercise and have fun is a good thing, because it makes you keep wanting to do it.

    Cize seems like a new and exciting way to get people who normally would not want to exercise to exercise. I think this is a great program for people who may not have the motivation to follow a regular exercise program because they think it’s boring, Cize makes it fun for everyone involved.

      That’s my thoughts on it as well, like i mentioned in my article some may be disappointed if there looking for strength and intensity.

      But its safe for pregnant woman and older generation so thats were it marks up, its unfair to really pit it against Insanity and T25
