Maxi Climber Vertical Climber Reviews

As you can see from this description, it looks like a powerful piece of kit, but how much can we take from the manufacturer’s “sales pitch”? Let’s break it down by each claim.

Does Maxi Vertical Climber Live Up to the Claims? In a word, Yes.

Claim 1 – It helps you tone up and lose weight by imitating rock climbing!

No doubt about that, and if you have ever tried this machine or done any form of rock climbing, you will know how much it works out you.

Claim 2 – Engages all major muscle groups!

It’s clear to see that this works just about everything utilizing the biggest muscles, including your legs, core, and back.

Claim 3 – Burns more calories than a bike or treadmill with less joint impact!

Again this would be a true statement as its using more muscles; therefore, needing more energy (calories) with it being a weightless exercise, there will be no stress on the joints.

Also, unlike the bike or treadmill, you’re using your body weight for resistance so that you will be doing a strength workout as well as a cardio workout. Not sure about going for a full hour though you may need emergency services on speed dial!

Claim 4 – Lightweight & durable!

This claim I have a problem with as it’s under 300 dollars and the way it’s designed to be used, will the moving parts cope with everyday stress? Keep reading to find out.

Vertical Climber Muscles Used

The maxi vertical climber isn’t like any other piece of equipment. In fact, it’s superior for weight loss and general fitness. The reason being, it virtually works every major muscle in your body!

Its main competitors in the fitness arena are –

  • Bike
  • Rowing machine
  • Treadmill

except for the rowing machine, the above don’t engage all major muscle groups. However, rowing machines require a great technique, or you could cause a bad injury. In comparison, the Maxi climber is simple to use.

What are the major muscle groups?

The term, major muscle groups, gets used a lot in the weight loss and fitness space but never really explained! Moreover, what does it mean, and why should you care what they are?

To simplify, the muscles you can see, such as leg, chest, back shoulders, etc. They all tend to be big muscles, especially the leg muscles. Therefore, it stands to reason that you will burn more calories if you use more muscles. Furthermore, the bigger the muscle, the more energy it needs (calories)

Not to mention, the more muscles used, the harder the heart and lungs have to work. (cardio system) Therefore, the maxi verticle climber will not only help with weight loss, but if you’re looking for cardio, it’s also superior.

Overall, verticle climbers are an excellent allrounder

P.S it will help define muscle tone from head to toe…

My Overall Thoughts. Maxi Vertical Climber is a Great Machine!

I loved using the vertical climber at the roko health club. However, his particular one is a lot cheaper and than the health club version and looks better.

Surprisingly, this model comes with a max user weight of 240 lbs. Considering the health club version only had a max user weight of just 200 lbs. Furthermore, the one I used was about $2000 more. That makes this is a remarkable bargain.

With this in mind, all the reviews I have read make no complaint of the durability and sturdiness. This leads me to believe that it is made with quality in mind.

They take a little time to get used to as a bit of coordination is needed, but once you find your rhythm, you will be burning fat and shaping up in no time at all. Vertical climbing destroys your whole body. I would do 10 – 15 minutes and feel like I had a great workout.

As shown above, this particular model compared to the one I have used looks a little more sturdy. For instance, the base is more significant. The health club version did tend to rock slightly when you went at a high tempo.

At the same time, the simplicity and effectiveness of storing your maxi vertical climber are second to none. Fold up and save the climber in a cupboard.

Comparing this directly to a treadmill or a bike, then Maxi Vertical Climber is king. Better results, 90% pre-made, and stores super easy.

All in all, vertical climbing will see better results for weight loss as well as general fitness. Moreover, it doesn’t matter if you’re a beginner or a fitness enthusiast.

Combine Maxi Vertical Climber with a proper diet for the best results. We recommend the 3-week diet or check out this post an easy diet plan to lose weight. Furthermore, these two plans will allow quick and safe weight loss.

Also, The Maxi Vertical Climber will save you money. Think about expensive gyms memberships, treadmills, and exercise bikes. All these are 100s or even 1000’s of dollars. The maxi climber is below $200

What is a good beginner vertical climber weekly workout routine? I’m looking forward to reading more of your posts.

Thank you for this good product review! There are so many products available now and its hard to know which ones are realistically going to help and which ones are not. My mom and step dad have tons of work out equipment that they spent way too much money on. This may be something I buy in the future knowing it works.

Depends on what’s wrong with your knees but generally speaking because it’s none weight bearing it should be fine.

Also, because you are moving the joints your body responds by lubricating the joints. This should help your knees but as always check with a medical physician

Will the maxi climber help with belly fat? Will it also tighten up the skin?

    1. Steven Varley Post author

Yes, it will help with losing belly fat. Unfortunately, nothing out there exercise wise that will tighten up the skin.

However, exercise and machines such as this will reduce the appearance of saggy skin.

How do I know how many calories I’m burning ?

    1. Steven Varley Post author

With this machine, you won’t know how many calories you’re burning. You would need to spend a little more for that function

I just bought one. I am 5’6 and 130 pounds. I got it because I am in grad school and don’t have time to go to gym and then drive back. I need to conserve my time. I find this is a great in between. My biggest pet peeve is despite everything (which is great), I feel the foot pedals are really hard, almost too hard and not wide enough (length). I wear a 7.5 narrow size show, so I cannot imagine how someone who has bigger feet, in width doesn’t find this annoying.

The other thing is the black plastic in the middle feels like it gets in the way of the natural movement of my legs going up and down. Paired with the limited width of the pedals you don’t get a lot of wiggle room for the foot placement.

Otherwise, everything else is a 10 for sure.

How much weight can you lose with the maxi vertical climber?? Never heard of this until i seen it on tv and thought about giving it a try. Is it an actual guarantee for weightloss? Thats all i want to know thanka for the reviews . i think i might try it.

    1. Steven Varley Post author

Hi kiara, it’s difficult to say how much weight you will lose this depends on many factors such as

      – Age
      – Starting weight
      – Diet
      – Frequency of use
      – Intensity

These are just some of the factors and the maximum user weight is 249lbs

Hello Steve – I usually do threadmills at gym but seeing this review for the first time on maxi vertical climber and the use of it, definitely makes me think to switch to this product. I’m mainly focussed on cardio and as mentioned I believed this will deliver high part on cardio? And thanks for the honest review. Keep well.

    1. Steven Varley Post author

This will definitely deliver on the cardio front. the maxi vertical climber will utilise all the big muscle. The bigger the muscle the more oxygen is needed. If more oxygen is needed then the heart has to work harder. thus increasing your cardio!

  9. Maun

    Hi Steven Varley,
Thanks for putting up this Maxi Vertical Climber review.
After watching the embedded video, I’m getting so excite to loose a little weight. But I must admit that I had knee surgery a few year ago.
I would like to know If it safe to use this Maxi Vertical Climber because sometimes I feel a little pain on my knee.
    Please suggest.
    I definitely try it out!

    1. Steven Varley Post author

      Hi Maun,

I couldn’t advise you on any injury. you would need to get professional advice from a medical practitioner such as a physio or knee specialist.

Although im sure it would be fine as it’s a non-weight bearing exercise I wouldn’t like you to take that risk.

  10. Gordon

A good well balanced review of this product. I have used one at a gym with mixed results probably due more to my lack of coordination than the machine itself. You do feel that burn all over once you have given yourself a good workout.

As you touch upon it will be interesting to see how long this climber lasts with constant use, looks solid enough from the pictures but it must take a lot of strain during use.

Definitely more practical than a treadmill or exercise bike and well worth investigating some more.

    1. Steven Varley Post author

My thoughts exactly garden. I can’t vouch for long term weight loss goals but does take a good load.

Short term it can’t be knocked like you said it’s more practical and it’s more cost effective, plus, you will get better results than a tread mill

  11. Edwin P.

Hi Steven…very good information about this vertical climber, hope I can get one in the future, you mentioned it is lightweight…does that affect the equilibrium you have once on it…just wandering that’s it…but thanks for the information and keep up the good work. Greetings.

    1. Steven Varley Post author

      Hi Edwin,

The equilibrium is fine as it’s quite stable, the vertical climber can take some patience to get used to the rythem.

But once you get used to it you won’t be disappointed.

  12. Brent

That sounds like something I need to try out. Some people do well with some machines and others don’t it seems. You just have to try one out and see if you would like it and would stick with it or it is a waste of $$. You certainly have given this one an great review though so that should certainly help their sales out.

    Keep up the great work.

  13. Shaun
