It Looks Worse Than It Tastes.

In this post, I am going to break all the different foods down into how it will help feel vibrant, healthy and fulfilled.

It’s no secret in the industry that what you have to start your day leads to your eating habits for the rest of the day, you probably know this if you have a good decent breakfast you tend not to snack on junk and if you skip breakfast or eat a sugary breakfast you do snack on junk, sound familiar?

After I have broken down the foods that will be in your green smoothie, I will show you how to make the perfect smooth blend.

What’s Best To Blend My Green Smoothie?

to make the best smoothies you want to a conventional blender, this way you will not lose the nutrients and will have a good consistency with your smoothie.

I recommend the NutriBullet  Pro 900 or the NutriBullet Graphite; I won’t go into to much detail as I have done a full review here —-> Nutribullet Pro 900 VS Nutribullet Graphite

What’s In This Green Slush?

If you think it’s going to be all green foods then your wrong there is a tasty little surprise in this potent cocktail of nutrition.

Spinach – This leaf is mighty! Low in fat and carbs but high in just about everything else, protein, niacin and zinc as well as vitamins A, B6 C, E and K, manganese, copper, potassium, thiamin, iron, calcium, folate and fiber.

Spinach will help keep your cholesterol down as well as your blood pressure also promotes healthy cardiovascular and the fiber content will stop you from craving sugary snacks.

Kale – It’s hard to believe that this little leaf has more iron than beef and more calcium than milk per calorie, this isn’t its only superpower it is similar to spinach with it being high in everything.

Kale is also suggested it can prevent against certain cancers, joint inflammation and bone loss, again high in fiber to ward off food cravings that lead to more belly fat.

Raspberries – This is the secret weapon to make the smoothie taste pleasant, like most fruit its high in vitamin C that helps the immune system and metabolism function optimally.

There is also limited evidence that raspberry ketones aid in weight loss, the pill industry have caught on to this and marketed to the masses but that’s not something I recommend.

Mint Leaves – This herb promotes weight loss in a healthy way, by stimulating your digestive enzymes helping to absorb nutrients (think how many you will absorb from this smoothie alone) and consume stored body fat for energy.

Tumeric – The active ingredient in turmeric is curcumin; curcumin may help reverse some steps in heart disease as well as help prevent cancer, depression, age-related chronic illnesses and is great anti-oxidant.

Sounds Amazing How Do I make It?

First things first rinse everything off under the water except the turmeric powder of course! Now you need to get the right amount this will make two nutrient packed drinks; I certainly recommend one for the morning and one before going bed.

  • Spinach – 100g.
  • Kale – 2 full branches stems and all.
  • Raspberries – a handful will suffice but put more in if you like.
  • Mint leaves – 2 branches stems and all.
  • Turmeric powder – 1/4 teaspoon.

Now you got all your ingredients pack it in your blender and add 425ml of water and put the lid on, trust me; this is the most important part! I have forgotten to put the lid on too many times and ended up covered in pulp.

Try not to blend for no more than 60 seconds as you will start to lose the nutrients but equally don’t mix for too short a time as you won’t release the nutrients and the consistency won’t be superb.

Last Word On Low Carb Green Smoothie Recipe

This smoothie may look horrible, but there is no denying its incredible power for your health, it’s also incredibly cheap to make.

The beauty of the green smoothie lies not only in the fact it is low carb, but the properties of the ingredients will aid your attempts at losing weight much more fruitful.

With minimal ingredients, you can have too great drinks and the morning one will set your day up just fine.

Ok, I am willing to try this and I do have a NutriBullet to make it in. My question is this, what does it taste like after it is mixed? I don’t mind the color, but I will have to be able to drink it down. Turmeric powder is great for a lot of things, so I like the idea of a smoothie with that in it.

Luckily mother of matt the strawberries are added or it would taste horrendous and the mint gives it a real refreshing taste!

You can always had more berries of any type to make it that little bit more sweeter!

It sounds really good for my body and I will give this one a try even though it’s green and not so good looking. Does it taste minty though? I am not too keen on mint.
