Healthy Smoothie Recipes

Over the last few years we’ve seen the boom of the smoothie, so naturally to help us lose weight and bust some fat I am going to give you 2 fat busting healthy smoothie recipes for making your extra tyres deflate!

What I like about smoothies is they are quick, easy and relatively cheap to make, they taste amazing and not to mention its virtually the quickest way to get your five fruit and veg a day.

There are NO limits to what you can blend just chuck in a blender and if it’s a horrible outcome then modify it for next time, I have seen some trainers put together mad combinations and still taste great.

Firstly your going to need a good blender, if you don’t own one yet click her here.

You don’t have to spend a fortune but must be half decent as you want that pulp and to be fully blended.

Why make your own smoothies.

Hey, thanks for this amazing article on making smoothies yourself.
Smoothies really are a great thing. Most people only use and think of smoothies for people seeking to loose weight. But I want to gain some weight and muscle and I also think that smoothies are very useful. It saves time and can give you a fast, healthy and easy meal.

    1. Steven

Absolutely, smoothies can be used for all sorts of fitness goals. lose weight and put muscle on like you say. Just make sure your ingredients are full of protein.

  2. Simon

My mouth is watering just from looking at your smoothie recommendations – add the added bonus of them being healthy and potentially good for fat loss and you’re in for something special.

You mentioned high sugar content under both smoothies but hey – some sugar in the morning is okay as our metabolism is on high revs so chances of sugar turning to fat is slimmer.

Any fat burners to recommend though?

    1. Steven

      Hi Simon,

Your’e right with a bit of sugar wont hurt to much but for people who are overweight they have plenty of energy to burn (fat)

I don’t recommend any fat burners except natural one. Check out this post for an optimised diet plan that teaches about the best foods for metabolism. Does 3 week diet system work

A quick note: You have a type o I wanted to let you know in case you didn’t notice. Summary spelled with an a. Great article!

  4. Gina

I make smoothies once in a while.
The strawberry one looks like a good recipe. I’ve made strawberry banana smoothies before, they’re pretty simple and I like simple.
For the blackberry buster, I would probably substitute strawberries for blackberries since I’m not too fond of blackberries.
    They sound good though, thanks!

    1. Steven

      Hi Gina,

The beauty of smoothies, you can do whatever pleases your taste buds if you do try your own smoothie, let me know how you get on….

    Hi Steven
I have heard that berries (all types really) are an amazing fat busting food and also incredibly healthy for you.
I’m going to have to spend a lot of time on your website soon… I have 2 children (2 and 4 yrs old) and it has been good for my tummy lol.
Add in that I love my chippies and chocolates, plus I recently quit smoking… well you can only imagine how flabby my tummy is looking.
I decided that 2016 (after the festive season when everything goes back to normal again) is when I will tackle this tummy problem.

    Hi Steven,
My wife makes a green smoothie for us every day. She uses fresh mango, pineapple juice, english spinach, mint, some chia seeds and a couple of tablespoons of extra virgin olive oil. It is amazing.
The difference between this one and other smoothie recipes is that it is tailored to our blood type. Each ingredient is a super food for Blood Type O’s who generally don’t thrive when there is dairy in the diet. So your morning furnace recipe would not benefit me, since yoghurt doesn’t always work well with my body’s chemical balance.
Still this is a great concept for a niche website and I hope it works well for you.

    Hello Steven.
Thank you for this article and explanation. That was most taste article i ever read about healthy diet. Are you sure about that just a smoothie can be enough for breakfast ? I mean could we hold until lunch ? 🙂

    1. Steven

      Hi Turker,

Everyone’s diffrent so if you do get a bit peckish in-between have a handful of nuts these smoothies are designed to keep you fuller with the dietary fibre and protein plus give you lots of energy

Hey i love your site omg smoothie!!

    I love tasty it is
But do i really need to add the protein in my smoothie to have the texture improve?

And also will the cinnamon add a strong flavor to it?
Love your site and your article
    keep the update coming!
Will wait for more further article from you 😀

    1. Steven

Thank your for stopping by the protein is in there to make you feel fuller for longer and fuels the muscles but optional if you don’t like it.

Same with the cinnamon totally optional the cinnamon aids in weight loss for that extra metabolism fire up

Looks Delicious! I have gone in and out of “smoothie for breakfast” phases, and I have definitely felt great when I was consistently drinking smoothies each day. They just have so many nutrients crammed in such a little space.

    1. Steven Varley Post author

      Hi Dallin,

So healthy it’s actually unbelievable and how simple quick and cheap it has to be a must got to admit I go in and out of phases and I feel the difference when I’m out

      What was your favourite?

      Regards steven

  10. Mara

    Hi Steven,
These smoothies look delicious. I have to admit I’m not a morning person, and this is the first time I’ve ever come across someone suggesting to make the smoothie the night before – genius! I really like the clear way you have put across the pros and cons too – it’s great to know what all these “super foods” actually do in terms of benefits. Thanks, you’ve inspired me to get onto the smoothie wagon!

    1. Steven Varley Post author

      Hi Mara,

Thanks for stopping by I do trying make the site simple as I know many people reading don’t have training or education in this industry

Do you have smoothies your self

  11. Jason

These recipes looks super delicious! The morning furnace smoothie really sounds good. I have never tried Garbanzo beans before. What are they like? Can you compare them to any other beans?

I would love to try out all these recipes as I am a health conscious individual. I like to take care of my body by eating and drinking right.

I love your site as it will help me to keep on the healthy track.

    Thanks for sharing.

      Hi Jason,

They are delicious and can be customised to your own liking all beans are good for health but these beans are especially good for fat burning and compliment the smoothie well.

Are you going to try it?

  12. PJ

    Hello Steven,

Great site. I love smoothies and my wife whips one up every day.

Your 2 new recipes sound great.

I’m especially intrigued by the Morning furnace recipe. We’ve never tried strawberries, broccoli, and garbanzo beans together, but I’m going to suggest this to my wife. I know it’s going to be a super healthy drink but I’m excited to see how it tastes!

    1. Steven Varley Post author

      Hi PJ,

You and your wife won’t be disappointed by the furnace it will wake you up for sure let me know how you get on….

  13. Emily

    hi Steven!
I am a big fan of smoothies in the morning! I have a Magic Bullet that is the perfect size to blend everything and works quite well. I used to start every day with a green smoothies (I put spinach in it) but lately I have been slacking off. I then need to get back into it. I agree that making your own smoothies is the way to go as it is definitively less expensive and you control what goes in it. I did not see the beans coming in the second smoothie recipe here! But they add protein and must also add to the consistency. I will be saving those 2 recipes for sure!

    1. Steven Varley Post author

Tut tut no slacking lol I’ve been very interested in the bullet think I may purchase one let me know of you try this smoothie
