Healthy Smoothie Recipes

Over the last few years we’ve seen the boom of the smoothie, so naturally to help us lose weight and bust some fat I am going to give you 2 fat busting healthy smoothie recipes for making your extra tyres deflate!

What I like about smoothies is they are quick, easy and relatively cheap to make, they taste amazing and not to mention its virtually the quickest way to get your five fruit and veg a day.

There are NO limits to what you can blend just chuck in a blender and if it’s a horrible outcome then modify it for next time, I have seen some trainers put together mad combinations and still taste great.

Firstly your going to need a good blender, if you don’t own one yet click her here.

You don’t have to spend a fortune but must be half decent as you want that pulp and to be fully blended.

Why make your own smoothies.

Firstly there expensive from shops and you don’t get a lot for your money and you know exactly what’s in them as you know there won’t be any preservatives or added sugar which aren’t going to help the waistline.

Yes, you read that right I know lots of people who have lost up to 14 pounds in 28 days from adding smoothies to their diet.

Let us look at your morning ritual….. research shows many people skip breakfast and this is a big NO NO! Your body has been in starvation mode for hours so it needs calories and skipping breakfast won’t help you lose weight, unfortunately, it will most likely encourage you to eat crap and gain weight.

Hey, thanks for this amazing article on making smoothies yourself.
Smoothies really are a great thing. Most people only use and think of smoothies for people seeking to loose weight. But I want to gain some weight and muscle and I also think that smoothies are very useful. It saves time and can give you a fast, healthy and easy meal.

My mouth is watering just from looking at your smoothie recommendations – add the added bonus of them being healthy and potentially good for fat loss and you’re in for something special.

You mentioned high sugar content under both smoothies but hey – some sugar in the morning is okay as our metabolism is on high revs so chances of sugar turning to fat is slimmer.

Any fat burners to recommend though?

      Hi Simon,

Your’e right with a bit of sugar wont hurt to much but for people who are overweight they have plenty of energy to burn (fat)

I don’t recommend any fat burners except natural one. Check out this post for an optimised diet plan that teaches about the best foods for metabolism. Does 3 week diet system work

I make smoothies once in a while.
The strawberry one looks like a good recipe. I’ve made strawberry banana smoothies before, they’re pretty simple and I like simple.
For the blackberry buster, I would probably substitute strawberries for blackberries since I’m not too fond of blackberries.
    They sound good though, thanks!

    Hi Steven
I have heard that berries (all types really) are an amazing fat busting food and also incredibly healthy for you.
I’m going to have to spend a lot of time on your website soon… I have 2 children (2 and 4 yrs old) and it has been good for my tummy lol.
Add in that I love my chippies and chocolates, plus I recently quit smoking… well you can only imagine how flabby my tummy is looking.
I decided that 2016 (after the festive season when everything goes back to normal again) is when I will tackle this tummy problem.

    Hi Steven,
My wife makes a green smoothie for us every day. She uses fresh mango, pineapple juice, english spinach, mint, some chia seeds and a couple of tablespoons of extra virgin olive oil. It is amazing.
The difference between this one and other smoothie recipes is that it is tailored to our blood type. Each ingredient is a super food for Blood Type O’s who generally don’t thrive when there is dairy in the diet. So your morning furnace recipe would not benefit me, since yoghurt doesn’t always work well with my body’s chemical balance.
Still this is a great concept for a niche website and I hope it works well for you.

Looks Delicious! I have gone in and out of “smoothie for breakfast” phases, and I have definitely felt great when I was consistently drinking smoothies each day. They just have so many nutrients crammed in such a little space.

    Hi Steven,
These smoothies look delicious. I have to admit I’m not a morning person, and this is the first time I’ve ever come across someone suggesting to make the smoothie the night before – genius! I really like the clear way you have put across the pros and cons too – it’s great to know what all these “super foods” actually do in terms of benefits. Thanks, you’ve inspired me to get onto the smoothie wagon!

    hi Steven!
I am a big fan of smoothies in the morning! I have a Magic Bullet that is the perfect size to blend everything and works quite well. I used to start every day with a green smoothies (I put spinach in it) but lately I have been slacking off. I then need to get back into it. I agree that making your own smoothies is the way to go as it is definitively less expensive and you control what goes in it. I did not see the beans coming in the second smoothie recipe here! But they add protein and must also add to the consistency. I will be saving those 2 recipes for sure!
